PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

The Principal at Atholl Heights is Mrs Di Warwick. She has been officially at the helm since 1994.

As I look back over the past few months I am all too conscious of how the days have disappeared at an alarming rate and I have been continually aware of racing against time. All too often I have bumped into a friend or colleague and in reply to my greeting I have heard the same response. " I have been rushing around. There isn't time to do everything I have to do. I have to be there in 5 minutes." I believe, at times it almost makes us feel important or indispensable or needed, to be rushing around trying to beat the clock and turn ourselves into exhausted wrecks. With frightening regularity we hear of young businessmen collapsing and dying of heart attacks. We hear of people not coping and becoming ill and very frequently these illnesses are stress-related.

Sometimes we need to take stock of ourselves and decide what our priorities are. Are our priorities our family, the people we love, our friends, being successful, making money, buying a new car, or travelling overseas?

Each and every dream has a place in the scheme of things but the essential factor is that there is a balance, a healthy balance with quality time set aside for our families, our beliefs and our work. You can always make more effective use out of time. The only person to make better use of time is you.

During our busy schedules we need to take time to smile at someone, time to thank someone, time to appreciate life. We need to take time to listen to our children and partners, time to encourage and uplift a friend and above all we all need quiet time for ourselves.

I need to take time to thank my excellent staff who constantly strive for perfection in all their academic, cultural and sporting responsibilities. I never cease to be amazed at their outstanding efforts and I extend my love and thanks to every staff member for making my job the joy it is and striving to uphold our vision to be "Simply the Best"

The secretaries, maintenance staff, caretakers and prefects are to be thanked for their hours of work and dedication.

The Governing body is to be commended on the very professional manner in which they carry out their portfolios and for their time, talents, hard work and friendship I can only say a very big thank you.

Let us use our time wisely, let us take time to laugh, time to dance, time to embrace, time to make peace and time to love. Let us take each day as it comes and be truly thankful for it.
